THE FACTS
Hall Tower is located in Mechanicsburg, PA. Its construction started in 1981. The “tower” which is really an elevator shaft, is sixteen stories high. A man named Jonathan Hall had it built. He had been paranoid his entire life, afraid that someone would burn down his home. To solve that problem, he built his tower out of concrete and surrounded it with a moat. Two years after the tower’s construction began, the police discovered that he had been embezzling money from his son’s business. He was sentenced to 27 months in legal prison. Johnathan Hall, however, did not want his son to have his tower. Before he was sentenced to jail, he set fire to it. Today, the ruins of the elevator shaft are still standing.
